Robert Frederick Stafford b) 30 August 1834 Mt. Pleasant, Screven County, (cut out of Wayne County) Georgia Glynn County is located on the Georgia coast north of Camden County. Glynn County, one of the original Georgia counties, was created by the first State Constitution of 1777.

Wayne County was created on May 11, 1803. The county boundaries have changed many times since the original "Tallassee Strip", a 5 to 15 mile-wide strip of land spanning from the Altamaha River to the St. Mary's River. Wayne County borders Glynn to the west.

From Widow's Application for Conferate Pension Documents:

Matilda Jane Stafford filed for conferate widow's pension in Texas, in this document she claims Robert Frederick Stafford was a Confederat soldier for three years. The pension was denied but there was a later application for the same pension by her grand daughter which was approved 26 September 1930.

Stafford, Robert F. (private) cattleman, age 26 in 1860; enlisted in 2nd Company H, 13th Texas Infantry, on June 27, 1862 at Columbus; on furlough, December 11 through December 28, 1862; left company with an illness, March 30, 1863
